I have a pair of Port Cichlids, i think (cichlasoma portalegrense, i think). They were behaving very aggressively so I removed their tankmates then they spawned. The female laid about 100 eggs. Then one evening when the fry were about a week old (and down to about 30-50 fry) I noticed they were all gone. What can I do to encourage the pair to spawn again? I changed about 30% of the water. Should I add a target fish of some sort? How about Barry White music? What should I do in the future to avoid this occuring again ? Remove some fry when very young? Suggestions appreciated.

They should spawn again within a few weeks. It is not unusual for the first few spawns to be unsuccessful. You could remove some of the fry to save them.
