Interesting looking hybrids. Maybe some johanni in them, first one almost looks like a johanni x Haplochromine hybrid...weird but can almost see some D. compressiceps in that pic, but maybe my imagination.

That's exactly what I was thinking when i looked at the first picture, perhaps it's a strange angle. However the second picture is oddly similar to an Protomelas Taeniolatus, especially as a juvie. Or perhaps a different protomelas species? Thoughts?

Protomelas taeniolatus x Melanochromis interruptus was what sprug to mind for me.
By no means an accurate Id but I have seen no pure fish that looks like this.

Thanks guys, I am in agreement that the Melanochromis Hybrid is a real strong possibility, the fish are not aggressive, as I would have expected. They are attractive fish, though and we will enjoy having the unique additions to our group.
