Hi everybody.
I am new in this forum and I have already started reading.
I bought a pair of pelvicachromis taeniatus as "moliwe" but I am not sure If it is.
Please help me to ID what form it is.
Here are some photos of my pair.
Male is red under his eyes (1st picture) but not always(2nd).Also,it has a bit of red in his dorsal fin (3rd).These are some things that make me believe,it is not moliwe form but nigerian red. What about female? What form is it?
Thank you very much. :)

Yes,but because the differences among color forms of taeniatus are very small,I cannot find what form is my pair.
Sure they are not moliwe.
Does anyone have any expirience with these fishes?

The large spots on the upper caudal suggest one of the Nigerian populations, Moliwe has smaller, more numerous spots. I agree that it is not Moliwe, resembles Muyuka slightly, but I suspect that it is one of the Nigerian aquarium strains. I would post those pictures over at apistogramma.com (good for all Dwarf Cichlids), Ted Judy is an expert on those fish, and has actually collected them in Cameroon.
