Hi everyone,

I got a new fish from the store today. I generally will only buy fish if I know what they are, but this one was so pretty. It was in a general Malawi Cichlid tank and I am sure it is a mbuna of some sort. I suspect it might be a hybrid, but have no idea what. It has a very intense orange belly, strong blue body with orange glow, and yellow dorsal and tail fins. The pictures actually don't do it justice. Can anyone help me identify it?

I have no idea how to upload photos, but here are links to three pictures of it:

Thanks so much,
Carol

I've seen something like it before on aquabid, but don't remember what it was called. If you want to do some investigating on there, you might find it. I've seen the add multiple times over several months, but haven't looked lately.

All it said outside the tank was mixed Africans or Malawi Cichlids or something untelling... I had soemone else suggest it is a "super red hongi"... After looking closel I can see bars too, so I am thinking that is correct.

Thanks everyone!
