He is basically Aulonocara sp. "stuartgranti maleri" more or less, similar to the "Sunshine" Chidunga. Not a major hybrid, but most of these fish for sale are rather vague in history, sometimes 2 or 3 types are mixed. Attractive male, but not a young fish.

Could he be a so called "Red" line bred? Possibly. These lines are not "fixed" or as consistent like dog breeds. The fish they usually sell as "German Red" are usually darker, debatable if those names mean much anymore.
