My tap water is hard and PH 8.2. On top of that I plan on aquascaping with Tufa Rock because I can get it from a nearby beach. This will be good for the Tangs I plan to keep, like julies and multies, but seems to be hard on plants. I have been told that Valisneria does well in hard water, are there other species as well?

plants are more sceptable to minor changes in water. ph in particular. also a lot of the new petco plants are not grown fully submersed so dont plan on huge growth until the root mass has had a chance to regrow. to promote healthier growth u can cut off w.e roots exceed 1.5inches to avoid them from bunching up and dieing which can inhibit growth.
