Comments:
Males of this species are noted for their white lips and deep-blue (sometimes almost violet) body. They lack the white spots that adorn males of Placidochromis sp. "Phenochilus Tanzania". Females are a uniform gray to brown in contrast to the the vertical bars found on females of the more popular Placidochromis sp. "Phenochilus Tanzania".
