Pictus has the Ichtus!

Man, I haven't ever encountered the ich before in any of my tanks... I think this time, my luck has run out...

My Pictus cat, who loves to swim in the front of the tank on the glass mind you, was doing his thing last night, and I noticed that he has little pimple like spots underneath him...

Well, after looking closer, they are everywhere.... I am pretty sure this is Ich....

Now, raise temp? Which I did... Also, added salt last night, and this morning.... What else to do, to try and avoid this and help my other fish....

Clean water- keep it hot salty and clean.

Heat above 86, if you can get it there (last time I had to throw in an extra heater and put a space heater in the room to get it that warm). I added salt at 1 TBS per 2 gallons the first day, then upped it the second day to 1 TBS per 1.5 gallons. Then, large water changes with vacuuming to help remove ich organisms in the substrate.

Good luck- hopefully you caught it quickly enough...
Thanks man, I am hoping I don't loose my cat, and or any of my fish... I do hope I caught it early enough....
I did 2 tbl sp for every 5 gallons and I only treated 25 percent of the water every few hours to allow them to adjust. Been gone now for about 3 weeks.
