I have 4 peacocks, and the PH was 8.2 with the sunshune constanly chasing the red robin. Now Ph is 8.0 and this doesnt happen nearly as much. I was told by someone in a fishstore that the lower the ph the less agressive thy will be. Should I switch from the 8.2 buffer to the 7.8?

Lol. I have learned to not belive much of what the employis in pet shops say. Most, but not all, don`t know a malawi when they see one.
Like Laurel says it`s probably just a coincidence.

That is very funny. The pH is the hydrogen ion concentration. It would never make a fish act different unless it was out of its tolerance and was showing signs of illness. It has nothing to do with 8.0 or 8.2. Try dropping the temp 2* or redecorate the tank. Leave the light off for a day and feed 3 or 4 (20-30 seconds each) small meals. If they are of the same sex than its most likely over territory and if opposite sex the male may be trying to make babies. Good luck because if that's the case, nothing will work.
