I decided not to dye the concrete because i wanted to use different colors on diffent rocks for a more realistic effect.... what type of paint can u use on my concrete and stryofoam that won't mess my fish up? and where can i get it? i've been getting differnt resposes from boat paint, to epoaxy... i'm going for a realist effect so i don't want shiny... like greys and browns and natuaral colors???? Help me

Krylon fusion paint for plastics is safe in the aquarium. Not sure on how it bonds to concrete.

Have you cured your background? This is essential to getting it right the first time.

Krylon comes in matte/shiny and lots of colors, and can be found at **** near every diy/hardware/etc store(menards, lowes, hd, walmart, etc).

It is a spraypaint, so it would require taping off sections. One thing that will help your bg look natural is encouraging algae. I've even seen people add more lights and some fertilizers(for planted tanks, despite no plants) to encourage algae a little quicker.
