Hi, my 2 year old Oscar has had what appears to be HITH for 4 weeks now and I really need some help! I've been treating with Waterlife Octozin for 20 days, with 50% WCs on the 8th day (as the bottle suggests), but it's not helping. He stays in one part of the tank all day (balanced against a bit of wood, right at the surface), is lifeless but violently skittish when disturbed, and hasn't eaten a thing the entire time. His slime coat also looks like it's peeling off.

I have next to no experience with illness and am clueless about HITH, he is my first Oscar and has never gotten sick before. Should I keep treating with Octozin? Try something different? Any suggestions would be really helpful as I desparately want to save him!

Sorry for the fish illness!!

How long has the tank been set up and what size tank is it?

Is the Oscar the only fish in the tank?

Can you post your aquarium test results for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH plus which type and brand test kit you are using?

Any chance you can post a couple clear pics of the fish from different angles?
