As i've mentioned in other posts, I have a very hard time reading nitrate levels as I'm partially color blind. Ammonia and nitrite are easy but Nitrate and Ph are almost impossible to me to decipher.

The picture is of my latest nitrate test, I thought it was 160 but I'm not sure. Regardless, this is right before my weekly water change. Does this seem normal to go that high after only a week? Or am i feeding too much?

I see 40ppm on the 1st test and between 20ppm & 40ppm on the 2nd test.

Are you able to see any shades of the nitrate color chart at all?

I can see a difference on the card, I actually see that they are different. But when matching something up, the vial looks the same as 10-80. It's very frustrating. But based on what you see, I'm ok with nitrate? I know lower is best but I can't do much better than weekly water changes.

Keep nitrates under 20ppm and the colors are easier and the fish are healthier.

Try feeding less, reducing stock and/or larger than 50% weekly water changes.
