So my Venustus went missing last night and i searched all around the tank behind it and in the chair next to the tank but nothing so i turned the light off and went to bed...

Well i woke up this morning turned the lights on and there he is he swam out from behind the driftwood.

Is it possible the he burried himself in the sand?

Not likely.

How big is he? Fish can hide in some very clever spots.

It is about the size of my hand so its about 6 to 6.5 inches

I pulled almost everything out and he wasn't there and i searched high and low around the tank and i figured it was a lost casue and the dog ate him but then i was told that she has been out side almost all day.

It's hard to say for sure. I've never seen a N. venustus completely bury itself, but anything is possible. They're crafty, they can find spots up top in the corners sometimes and you just can't spot them. As long as he's still in there, all is well. :thumb:

I just thought it was super weird i like the predator haps and its bettween him and my yellow princess that are my favorites but who knows.

I also made a discovery this morning i was looking in the tank and my male ruby red was holding eggs.. i know right then i was looking on aquabid they have the ruby red females that look just like her. Not gunna lie i was kinda mad. There goes an all male tank right...

If I remember correctly there were quite a few people interested in those very pretty ruby red females... You can at least sell her for a good price. All my 'males' that I have found holding I have had to simply give back to the LFS.

haha yeah well this one really passes as a male and he kept that color and after 3 months of it growing i was 100% dead set on it being male but little to my knowlege they have the super female ruby reds.
