Hi All,
I have just signed up after reading lots of posts on this forum.

I am looking at setting up a malawi tank, i have a 75litre tank (yes iam in the UK) and i wanted to know if i can mix these species of fish in my tank...

1) Demasoni (2)
2) Rainbow Shark (1-2)
3) Cat fish (1)
4) Male fighting fish (1)
5) Cleaning fish

I was going to go for a crushed rock/sandy base with some nice hiding places with plenty of swimming space.

All help and advice is welcome

"Male fighting fish" is that a betta?

It will get eaten by a cichlid.

rainbow sharks won't fit in your 75L tank once they get midsize (they can grow to like .6M)

What kind of catfish?

What kind of cleaning fish?

2 demasoni, may work, if both females. if one is male, you'll end up with 1 demasoni (which you'd definitely know if you read more on the forums).

Hi,

Thanks for the reply...

Iv not had chance to read everything and i really am just learning and trying to absorb as much info as possible.

Ahhh ok, so will i be better to just keep cichlids in the tank then? i was thinking a couple of shrimps/snails as cleaners.

I was thinking of a black spotted catfish?

Apologies but i do not know what betta means

Your tank is too small. If your serious about Lake Malawi Cichlids i would go atleast 200-250 liters.

You could do some small shell dwellers in your current tank but not many malawi fish will be happy in there. Also a betta is the same as a fighting fish.
