i got a tank that has everything in it already and my two fish are still in it. a GT and a FM. But i got a new tank and i want to use everything in my old tank in the new one. I have been letting the water/tank run for 24 hours and i dont know what process i should do to set up the tank , Any help would be great

The water itself is pretty much irrelevant. You want the material that has surfaces for bacteria. Filter material, sand/gravel, rocks, etc. What I usually do prior to opening up a new or additional tank is to put a porous bag of ceramic beads or substrate onto the sand (or gravel), and leave it there for a week or so to build up a biologic load (bacteria). Then I add the bag to the filter in the new tank (along with some old filter material if it's going into the same type of filter). Instant cycle...

I agree, moving the water is a waste of time. The vast majority of your beneficial bacteria are in your filters. Move your filters, decorations/substrate, your fish, and voila.
