I went to my lfs and bought a few males for my all male peacock and hap tank. I purchased a venustus and now that he has been in the tank for a few days a few of my other fish are chasing him around. I haven't had this problem before and I'm wondering if he is possibly a female. I think I see some color, but I'm not sure if it's my lighting. He is about 4 inches and one of the bigger fish in the tank. My Lemon Jake and Star Sapphire seem to chase him the most. My lemon Jake is the biggest in the tank and about 4 1/2 - 5 inches. Could it be that my new Venustus is a female or could it just be a dominance issue? I have included pictures of the Venustus.

Not a pure Venustus, but a hybrid.

Seems male. Yes, they will fight over pecking order.
