Ok so i went to pick up some new angels yesterday and came home with a 2" Blue Diamond Discus instead. This is my first experiance with discus so i was wondering what foods to go for and what to stay away from. hes in a 30g with some plants, a 3" BN pleco and a school of 5 neons. is this a good mix?

I have heard blood worms are a good food for discus. I am thinking of adding a Discus or two to my Angel Tank.

I added a couple Discus to my 46 gallon bowfront a few months back.

They like brine shrimp, bloodwords and beef heart.

Not big fans of krill.

Love Formula freshwater flake food.

Don't care for anything plant based.

Thing about Discus, they got the smallest mouths around. My tetra's can take bigger bites than my 4" discus.

Mine love Hikari Discus pellets and just about any frozen food (I feed them daphnia, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, bloodworms, & plankton). Don't seem to be interested at all in any flakes, including Discus formulas.

I would try to feed the dicus pellets and some frozen food but vary it up so the discus doesn't eat the same food EVERY day. I feed my SA cichlids bloodworms and mini cichlid pellets and they love to get different things once and a while.

1 discus isnt going to be very happy by itself though
