I was out this weekend browsing around at a lfs. I found a tank with florescent colored danios. Are they common or is this some type of dyed fish?

Do a search for Glo Fish. That will probably answer more of your question than you could ever hope for. If they are the same fish, they have been genetically engineered with coral DNA to make them florescent, basically.

Thanks, those are the fish that I saw last weekend.

I have one in my tank with 3 other danios, they act exactly the same as the regular type, they have the gene from a jellyfish which was originally inserted so it would flurace under a black light to test when water quality in water purification plants isn't the best.
