i'm new to the world of cichlids, and i have what i think is a male and a female pair of yellow labs.
unfortunately, the tank isnt the biggest, and the male instantly started digging and moving stones spitting them out around the tank etc.. and harassing the female. ( everytime she swims past his "cave" he goes for her.

so she has taken to swimming vertically in the corner of the tank next to the heater..
is she sick or what??

Thanks, Kris.

She is stressed. Labidochromis caeruleus is a harem breeder. Multiple females are needed to be in a tank with one male to spread the harassment among them. Also the tank should be at least 36" long and preferable 48".

A stressed fish can become sick so it would be a good idea to take action as soon as you can.

What are the dimensions of the tank? Do you have room to add females?
