Need a little help with algae issues that I am having in the tank. It is not really on my lace rock, but instead on the glass of the tank, a 75 gallon. I listened to the advice about getting a bristlenose, but I have had 2 deaths and out $40. Not sure if is due my cichlids messing with it, my PH being to hight (7.7) or what. I bought these to guys from seperate fish stores. One lasted about 5 days, replaced him w/ another that lasted about 2 days.

1 Question - Why do I keep loosing my bristlenose???
2 Question - What else could I get to control the algae? I don't really want another pleco that will grow to over 1'.

Thanks for your help

You could always get one of them magnetic glass cleaners to clean down the glass, and watch your light usage. If it's on to long it helps the algea to grow. High nitrates also promote algea growth.
I am led to believe that it's a sign of a healthy tank though
