Hi,

I am going setup a new 90 Gallon Lake Malawi tank of dimension 60x18x22 inch. I have already a 40 Gallon tank with one Sunsun 302 with 10 in stock. Now I would like to shift them to the new tank along with the Sunsun 302 and also I am going to add a Sunsun 404B to this. Please let me know whether this filtration sufficient for them and If I add 10 more peacocks/OB Haps?

I am taking all my rocks and sands to the new one, so how long should be the cycle without the fishes after setting it up? I mean when should I shift them to the new one?

That should work. I don't adjust for actual...just use the manufacturers GPH. There are many people who prefer a slower passage through the media for maximum exposure for and to the beneficial bacteria. The fact that the actual is a lower GPH gives you the best of both worlds.
Thanks for your advise. The 90 gallon is ready to go and the filter is yet to reach my home. Hope for the best.....I would use the Seachem Stabilty and my old sands and rocks from my 42 Gallon tank to start the bacteria cycle. What do you think about the fish to put into the new one once the aquascaping is done? How many days I should wait for?

If you are using Stability, follow the directions on the bottle. I would plan on six weeks and if it is shorter than six weeks then the Stability helped.

I like 16 haps and peacocks in a 60" rectangle tank regardless of gallons. What is currently in the 40G? Not too many Malawi that will be good in a 40G.
Hi Thanks for your advise.

In my current 40G there 10 Africans 7 peacocks and 3 Mbunas. I have already setup the 90G and I have transferred few sands and rocks there and left two BP in that for tank cycle. Using Stability to keep the water healthy and also few bio media in that tank as well. It is most three days. Can I transfer my Cichlids after one week? with Sunsun 302 exiting filter and on 8th day I'll install my new 404 there.

I would not depend on the Stability. Are you transferring all the established filters from the 40G to the 90G?

When you do that, move the fish at the same time.

If you are just using Stability, I would follow the directions on the bottle. Be sure to ask the manufacturer if there will be toxins as part of the process so you can know what to expect.
Yes I have moved the fishes just after one day I moved the existing filter media.
