Mylochromis Lateristriga is a described species found at Kadchezna, Otter and Thumbi West Islands.

Mylochromis sp. 'lateristriga makanjila' (formerly known as sp. Mchuse) is an undescribed species found on the east side of the lake at 7 different localities. That longnose 'description' is likely a trade name as this species has a very pointed face/snout.
