You seem to have a nice looking young pair... did you get them both at the same place?
Yea man I got them at PetSmart. I just had a feeling that she was a female because she was pitch black when I got her with a shiny green on her gill plate and a red stripe down her dorsal (read somewhere that was indication of female) and he did not have that luminescent green on his gill plate and I hear the males usually lack that so I went with it. Lets hope they make it happen.
Only problem is I am housing them with my Texas pair so there kinda getting bullied I think. I thought they might be tough enough to atleast hold there ground since their similar in size and I introduced them at the same time, but those Texas' arent having it. esp. since their a pair. And I dont have any other tanks to put the JDs in so looks like I might have to take them back. :( But I just might by another 29g grow out tank for them.
Or give in and just get my 125g. Who knows. Well preciate the help guys.

Hehe my boy BV. Thanks man. I guess im getting lucky. When I bought those two Texas' they were the only two I bought and just happend to be M and F pair. 50/50 chance I guess. I hope I did the same with the JDs. Will my Texas' breed even with the JDs in there and if so will the JDs be able to hold their own when i comes to my Texas aggression from guarding fry?

I second that. You should look on Craigslist for used tanks. Sometime you can find really good deals. There are usually lots of 55g for sale, which would work for the JD pair. Anyway nice pair and good luck with them.

Yea dude. Listen to this sh1t lil mama. My buddie just yesterday was on Craigslist. Found a 75g with stand, lights, heater, bubble stones, air pump/hoses, decor, 75lbs worth of rock, filter, etc. Anyway he gave him anything and everything he needed for that tank for 150 bucks cash. Just because the middle brace that keeps the tank from bowing was broken. We went to home depot bought some medal braces and screws and made that thing stronger than it was when it was made. **** of a deal man. **** of a deal.... unless our make-shift brace fails. Then it was worth every penny. LOL
