Hey all,

Aside from a side issue (sick fish I think), i've had my 4 cichlids for a couple of years now, most are approximately 15cm or longer but haven't coloured up very much at all except on the fins and the top of the fish.

I've got the following:
1 x e-yellow
1 x Protomelas spilonotus
1 x Red Shoulder Peacock
1 x Acei

Primarily the Protomelas and the Red shoulder have pretty plain colouring on the sides.. as in a very very light shimmer of blue but that's it. Not as profound as the pictures in their profiles on this site.

I feed once a day using sinking pellets and roughly 35-45 pellets. I do regular water changes of about 40-50%. Is this enough food? I used to also feed brine shrimp and vege blocks, but didn't seem to have any effect on colouring either.

Any tips?

Thanks, Koj

Koj, I believe this may be due to the problems you are having in the tank.

Let's get the answers to the thread you posted in the health and illness folder and see what we can come up with.

With the aceis behaviour, I'm pretty sure something is wrong and we're best to keep it confined to one thread.
