Good luck finding a fish store that will take them, but you might( and I mean might ) find one that will trade you for store credit. Convicts are great parents so there really isn't any reason to remove them unless you just want to(the eggs that is).

I agree. There is really no reason to remove them. If you really want to most people that take out the fry will wait until they have been free swimmers for a week or more.

As far as finding somewhere that will take them you are best off asking your LFS if any of them would take them. If they say no tell them you are willing to take store credit (that is if you are willing).

Or BEG them to take them off your hands for free. I had one LFS where the fish manager said he would take 12 if I promised to seperate the parents. Maybe my city is saturated with convicts, but at most lfs I see them selling for $5 each. In fact, one of the places I gave 25 or so of my 3 month old babies, put them right in the tank with the label "baby convicts $4.95." This didn't bother me at all since these babies were about to send my tank into overload, and I really needed to get rid of them. I now remove the eggs soon after they're fertilized (I can tell because of the behavior of the parents) and feed them to my albino african frog in another tank, he loves them and it's great protein for him. I wish you luck in finding yours a home.
