My aulonocara rubescens are holding ?

What do I do ?

Noticed that both females are holding.

I have a small tank thats been runnung for them do I move them or keep them in the main tank.

They live with my Yellow labs 1 male and 2 females.

You'll have a better shot at fry survival if you get the mothers into the smaller tank.

Has the small tank been running with fish in it to keep it cycled?

If they are not being harassed, I'd keep them in the main tank for now until day 18. Then I would strip them both into the fry tank.

They will not want to spit if they are together in a maternity tank.

Note each fish can hold 35 fry...how many fry do you want to end up with? You will need extra tanks to raise 70 fry to selling size. If 20-35 fry is enough for now you might let one spit in the main tank.

thanks,

i've moved 1 to the maternity tank, the other 1 was eating today so not sure what she's up to.
