Hello all,

I've been working a long time on a new tank and thought I'd share it with you.

I welcome your feedback.

3D Background
Materials: 2" Styro, Gorilla Glue, Drylok, Quickrete Concrete Colouring.

Tank Stand
Materials: 2x6, 2x4, 1/2 inch plywood, poplar trim

Sump Tank
Materials: 30g tank, glass, bio balls, mag 950

Overflow
Materials: 1.5" PVC, return split to 2x3/4"

Comment: Added a standard airline to the "T" behind the tank (before the drop to the sump) and raised the loose end above water level - this was needed to keep a siphon during power outage.

I still have to finish the doors and put them on the stand, and build a hood for it.

I know the water level is low - originally this was setup for a turtle, but it turns out it might not be a good fit for him as he's eating the sand and jumping all the fish in the tank... he might need a different home (new tank?). I'll be raising the water level shortly.

I welcome your comments and feedback.

You said you worked a long time, about how long did this take?

Your effort does not go unnoticed, everything looks really good! :thumb:

I'd love to take on a project like this one someday, but I have a bad habit of doing a project 95% :D

The longest was the background carving... about 14 hours. Coating in Drylok was a few hours over 3 nights. The stand took an afternoon for the frame, an afternoon for the exterior. I had help from a buddy on the exterior. Plumbing I did over 2 nights. The rest was just filling time. All in it took about 6 weeks from start to finish. :)
