I've been trying to clean a lot of calcium deposits off a glass aquarium I just got. It's working well. My question is, will the acid damage the silicone? I'm not dumping tons on, just spraying the scraping then rinse with water
I used Acid Magic, a form of safe muriatic and had no trouble. Watch getting the acid totally out. I will go with a baking soda flush next time I use acid. I created headaches with acid residue left after I thought I had rinsed. Alkaline baking soda will not bother me as my water is alkaline but the left over acid crashed my PH bad any time I got water up to the lip where acid was hanging out. It took a bit to figure what was happening. UGH!
