You actually have about the right number of fish for an all-male tank. If you are not doing an all-male tank you have too many species.

Let's say you replaced the blood parrots and brichardi with mbuna. I'd choose these:
1) rusty
2) acei

3) borleyi too big even for a 75G tank
4) Steatocranus casuarius a timid fish, not sure it would fare well with your mix
5) Callochromis pleurospilus red flame an aggressive fish, needs a bigger tank
6) Altolamprologus calvus (Black), even more of a non-fit than the brichardi

I don't think it's your aquascape that is the problem. For mbuna I fill the tank with rocks and for haps/peacocks I have 3/4 open space and 1/4 rock pile.

Note this tank has been set up only 7 months and it takes two years to judge a successful mix. Here are my fish:
Astatotilapia latifasciata Lake Kyoga 'Zebra'
Protomelas marginatus 'Turquoise'
Otopharynx tetrastigma
Copadichromis trewavasae Likoma 'Ivoryhead Mloto'
Copadichromis borleyi Kandango
Aulonocara stuartgranti Mdoka (Flametail)
Aulonocara stuartgranti Maleri
Aulonocara Ruby Red
Aulonocara turkis
Placidochromis electra Likoma 'Deep Water'
Copadichromis chrysonotus Mumbo 'White Blaze'

The most aggressive is the borleyi (3") and the Astatotilapia is #2. Some are still juveniles. When the borleyi exceeds 6" I am considering swapping tanks and putting the Tangs in the 75G and the haps in the 72" tank.

Hope this helps. :thumb:

No mbuna with haps, except usually yellow labs work. And note that haps and peacocks want at least as much open space as rocks.
