Hey all, I set up my 40 gal Tank already stocked as i brought it off someone and just took on what was in it, I have had it a few months now and have become quite attached to some fish mainly my Acei, Moori, Kenyis and a few of my nicer looking Yellow Labs, but am thinking of shrinking my Yellow Population as I have way too Many yellows and I quite like a more wide variety of colours and im curious as to whether its possible to have a very mixed tank of like 1 or 2 of many different Mbhuna types? I have a Massive amount of rock in my tank so not short of hiding places :) any suggestions welcomed thanks

Yes it is okay to have many fish in 1 tank especially Mbhuna's they are usually kept "overstocked". For a 40 gal depending on thier size you can put 10-12 in there. I have 15-18 in my 55gal,and as long as you have plenty of hinding places you should be fine.

What are the dimensions of the 40G? Footprint is more important than gallons.

If you want variety you can try one male of each species if your tank is 48" x 12" or larger.

I would not do it with a 36" tank or with two of each or with mixed genders.
