If a guy had a group of Msobo and a group of Tropheops Chilumba, would there be a high likelihood of crossbreeding due to the females being so similar in color, or would it be okay given that they are two completely different genus?

Intergeneric hybrids are not uncommon amongst Malawians, unfortunately. An obvious example would be the various hybrids between Mbuna and peacocks.

Yeah I was afraid of that. I'll have some cats in there to clean up fry, and don't plan to save anything for a while, but it would be nice to keep a clutch or two in the distant future when I'm set up for it.
