Hi guys...I'm quite excited because it's my first time. First of all do you think she's actually holding?(i'm quite sure she has eggs in her mouth but she still eats a little bit...)

What am I to do now? I would be grateful of any advices
It would be better to steep the fry out after some time or to let her spit them in some rock and prey?

really hope to see some fry :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

If you can remove her to her own tank thats best. If not, you can always make a bottle trap. Take a 2 liter soda bottle, wash it out well, and cut an air vent in the side near the top. Poke a lot of tiny hole in the side/bottom for water flow and drop her in the vent. If you watch closely (everyday) until she spits you can remove her back to the tank before she eats her own young. Or you could strip her after 18 days...and yes she's holding.

I'd have to agree with Malawilover. Mine don't tend to eat either when they are holding. I have had 3 fish holding and none of them ever ate. Just look in her mouth really closely to see if you can see anything. Your looking for orange balls (eggs) or white ones, or for little black dots if she is that far along (then they have hatched and are probably ready to come out). That's just from my experience. Have fun! And good luck!
