I've kept eight different species of Melanochromis and without a doubt M. chipoke was the most aggressive to me. I had a male that got up to nine inches long in a 125 gallon tank. They will kill anything in the tank!! I've had M. auratus males that were easy going and some that were holy terrors. I had three or four different chipoke males and all of them were big time killers. I think the chipoke male is one of the best looking mbuna, but what an attitude!!
