Auratus Article

Please read the article linked above. Just be warned, a mature male Auratus is the nastiest little %$#^@&* I have ever kept (long ago, as I have found just don't like the extreme aggression).

If either of your M. Auratus is male, once he matures, you will end up with one M. Auratus in your 55 gal tank. Then without a bunch of girls to draw his attention - pretty much anything (and everything) will be a target. They are amazingly agile and relentless.

Large aggressive mbuna that look nothing like the M. Auratus along with a few more M. Auratus would be all I could suggest.

Good Luck.

Search for posts authored by cichlidaholic with the word auratus. She's a moderator and auratus were her husband's favorite fish. I think the recommendation for success is a 75G tank with one male and 8 or more females. Best of luck!
