Just a note that I have a community tank with SA/CA and odds and ends, including a Black Ghost Knife
Well one fish had a cut or sore on its body, so I dosed the tank with Melafix, and within 5 minutes, the Ghost Knife was dead
Never seen anything like it before. The instructions say its safe for even the most delicate fish, but I guess not for Ghost Knife fish

I have used this product many times before, and never had any issues with it

I treated my Asian tank with melafix as my rasboras came down with an infection but what they don't tell you on the bottle that scaleless species don't mix very well with this medication so i lost 4 catfish in the process. Since doing some research, a lot of aquarists aren't a big fan of melafix or pimafix. Sorry to hear about the knife fish though

It says it's safe, but if use it on a tank with snails, it will kill them all and crash the tank. I lost a whole tank from this.

Thanks for the advice. I have used melafix before but in the future I willl be careful of it.
