I was at the LFS this afternoon and saw the Marineland Reef Capable LED Lights he was using on some of his tanks. It has the white & blue lights in it, really slim sleek look. I have a 90 gal tank and am currently using a Current USA Orbit light set up. Is anybody using this light in their tank?? Will it create enough light in the 90 gal 24" deep tank bottom.

I think the reef capable ones may be overkill. The double brights would probably be enough. I have the double brights on a 100g tank that is 22" deep and it looks great to me.

The problem with the double bright is on a 90 gallon, it's only 36" wide. They don't make a doublebright 48" unit. Add the fact that a 90g is a pretty deep tank, and it may only be enough light for some people's tastes. Bottom and sides will be pretty dark.

I have 2 24" double bright on my 60" 100g and it works great.

That 60" fixture is the reef capable series which is even brighter, and way more expensive.

In Reef Capable they do. Not in double bright. If they did, I'd own it. :D

So do you own it?

Im thinking about getting a pair of 36"-48" doublebrights to go on a 72" x 18" tank. Still debating on a pair of those or a pair of 36" Coralife T5s?

That is a new size. When this thread was created the 48" light did not exist which is why I have 2x 24".

I was looking into these when I was first getting my 90g setup back in Dec. '10.

That said... I might have to put this 48" fixture on my wish list :thumb:
