I have a yellow lab mail that I noticed his tail fins were bitten into by someone yesterday....I will say that he has been aggressively trying to get with one of the females the past few days....would she do that to him if she is not interested?

Thanks

Thats hard to say for sure. Nipped fins happen all the time. I dont know your stock list but it really could be any fish.

It happens. If your YL starts getting pushed to a corner of the tank and swims with clamped fins, it's time to fix the problem. If it's just a nipped fin or two, no big deal. How do you know it's male, anyway?

Just by what I have been reading on here....the black fins on bottom...the other, which I assumed was a female because she does not have those.

I will post some pics when I get home....tthat will probably help

Thanks

That is not an accurate way to determine sex. Either you have to vent them or see one hold (female).
