i'm new with keeping cichlids & not very experienced either. before i found this website, i really had no clue..

the problem is around here there's not much selection of cichlids, every now and again i will find a really nice one most often they are labeled wrong so i get it home with the new fish then i do my research on here only to find its not what i was lead to believe i bought....very frustrating!

i was wondering if anybody is from around these parts and knows of any lfs who has a great selection of cichlids & with the proper knowlegde to give a newbie like myself?

i know this is probally a longshot, but though i would give it a shot!

thanks Jenn :fish:

Because we have a 'Reviews' section that includes opinions on retailers, we ask that you take advantage of this resource when possible. We feel that it is better for all who use the site to have a structured place to conduct reviews. Reviews on a discussion board quickly become buried and it is inevitable that your input will not be seen next time, or the time after that. This is not the case with the reviews section. In addition, it is easy to compare retailers and products there. Thank you for your consideration.

look for local clubs, they will be able tio help supply you either with the fish themselves or through contacts to decent LFS's.

also, you can look for other members (via meberlist, and sort by location) and ask them via PM
