This will be on a 75 gallon tank. It currently has the standard flourescent bulb fixture that came with it. It doesnt light the whole tank very well, and colors are fairly washed out. Suggestions?

If I could do it with LEDs and save money on power, I would be all about that.

I have a different cyp, but like the way the actinics bring out the blue. I use a combo of actinic and a 50/50 daylight actinic. Or sometimes I combine the actinic with a 10k that'll bring out more blue. If you go lower like the 6500K you can bring out more yellow, but I really don't like the 6500's. A lot is personal preference.

I was looking at the Marineland doublebrights. They have the blue lighting mixed with white. Maybe I will give that a shot. Gotta love the power saving bonus as well.

Edit: I will probably get two 24" fixtures as opposed to a 36" with arms stretched out

IDK, I just got the smallest fixture, it says it is good for aquariums up to 30 in. long. It looks small, but it packs alot of light:

Actinic with a 10k that'll bring out more blue is my first choice.
