As mentioned in a previous post I found a single t5 to be too bright and unnatural for a low tech planted s.american tank. I prefer a darker more natural subdued look. Is there any way to better light to your plants but at the same time not brighter? Does this make sense? I wonder if LED's can somehow make this work?

One way to do this with LEDs is to use a controller that allows you to set the LED at less than 100% intensity. The nice thing about LEDs is that the light color stays the same even when you dim them. So with an LED you can adjust the brightness to what you what and still get the light you need.

you could also do spotlights on the plants... it's a way to have a more natural look as the "sunlight" can cut down into the tank in rays of light.
