Labidochromis sp. "SRT Kimpuma"
by Marc Elieson
This Labidochromis species is gorgeous. Both males and females turn deep purple with a dark red band down their spine. Females don't turn as dark as males, however. This picture of a juvenile female is not very good because you can't see the deep purple which is already apparent at this small size. This is a rare strain of the somewhat common L. kipuma, and it was apparently developed in Germany sometime in the late 90s.
