I've recently bought a female kribensis to my 20 gallon tank. The female went in and within a few days, ripped all of my male's fins off. He later died with a big belly and popping eyes. The male was a bit smaller than the femalel; was that the reason, the female killed the male? I'm planning to get another male kribensis, how big should it be?

i would try getting a male of similar size as the female. If not larger. What else do you have in the tank? I believe kribs can go well with tetras so you can use those as dither fish so the pair doesnt get too aggressive with each other.

On another note, personally i would feel more comfortable having them in atleast a 30 gallon. my kribs have a single pair, with an extra solitary krib, the pair usually sticks together but often enough they hang out as a trio. im no expert though as mine havent spawned for me since getting them as young juvi's almost a year ago.
