the socolofi!!!!!!!!!!!! and on saturday I have a lab holding too... not sure if they are fertilized or not or who the daddy is..... since i dont think any of the male labs look big enough to spawn, but Big Joe the socolofi could have spawned with the lab too, who knows! or perhaps they arent fertilzied, but that lab has a TON of eggs in there. so much that she cant shut her mouth and i can see the eggs in there and sometimes they almost fall out and she has to suck them back in! :lol:

i think the socolofis will hava big batch too... they spawned for an awful long time!

You can try to see if they are fertilized by their color. Usually orange indicates that they are fertilized whereas white are usually unfertilized. If she's far enough along, you will see eyes later on in her holding!

I had a lab that mated with a red zebra and she is only about 2 inches long. Apparently they mature when they are smaller than most. I kept the fry (all 21 of them) and now they are a month and a half old and about 1/2" to 1" long.

Its sooooooo much fun. I also had to cobalt blues too that spawned and have 8 fry from them. Good luck!

so the spawn was socolofi and socolofi? what else do you have in the tank? and how many socolofi do you have? sorry im just curious, *** been thinking of making a yellow lab/socolofi tank and you mentioned you had both in there

the eggs in the lab looked white/clear to me. would they be orangy right away? IF she spawed it would have been saturday.

TheeMon..... the spawn was socolofi and socolofi i have acei and labs and socolofi in the tank... the socolofi's I have one male, one female, and one unknown that one is a little smaller so i am not sure on the sex. i did have another socolofi but it was stressed out, not sure if it was another male or what... but that one died. since then i havent had any issues though!

If she spawned on saturday..I would give it a few days. She will try to chase the male around to get the boys "stuff" in her mouth to fertilize them. But if she doesn't you will notice in a few days/ to a week that she will eat again, and have no more eggs. If they turn orange, they are fertilized. :thumb: Good luck.

you know whats weird? socolofi is supposed to be a realitivly common species right? i cant find it anywhere the same goes for the red zebra(blue Male varrient)
