I have notice to my Julidochromis regani some diference in shape of papilae.
Can anybody tell me what papilae belongs to male and what to female?

*** been told that a hook shaped one i.e the 1st pic is female, and that a cone chaped 1 is a male...
but wait till a pro chimes in.

im interested to find out too, my j.marlieri are getting big but havent spawned yet :-?

i believe the hooked one is the female.
my ocellatus female also has a hook while the male is more straight and not hooked.

To be honest I can not tell sex from the side, though those two do look a bit different on a second look.

they are both females from the looks of it, the hook pointing downward are females and the one that is straight pointing towards the tail are males, these are very obvious to marlieri and regani hope that helps, and the females tend to get much bigger than the male regani.
