I went away for the weekend and my JD pair spawned. Eggs everywhere!!!

-At 78°F how long will it take for the eggs to hatch?

-Can you tell if the eggs are fertilized? They are a translucent brown color, I think a couple (about 5) are white...

Any information would be greatly appreciated...

Hopefully I will have some little ones swimming around soon :fish:

When they are first laid they are clear/pink/white...

Once they are fertilized they become orange/brown...

The white ones have gone bad. This can be due to not being fertilized, fungus, etc... up to 5% turning white is 'normal'...

I would expect eggs for 3~4 days... then they will hatch and become 'wigglers' for about 4~5 days... then free swimming...

When they are wigglers they have hatched but are not yet able to swim. At this stage the parents tend to take pretty good care of them. The wigglers eat their yolk sack therefore do not need to be fed by you...

Once they are free swimming you'll need to step in and help out with feeding...
