Is this a jacobfreibergi or a maleri? I put two juvies of each in the tank and I have long thought they were both lemons, but now I'm not so sure. Didn't expect a lemon to be so yellow. Yes, these are two different fish.
IM NO EXPERT EITHER, THE TOP ONE LOOKS KINDA LIKE A AULONOCARA "MALERI" OF CHIDUNGA ROCKS......AND THE BOTTOM ONE LOOKS LIKE IT COULD BE A AULONOCARA "JACOBFREIBERGI" ALSO KNOWN AS TREMATOCRANUS REGINA USUALLY FOUND NEAR THE LLALA GAP .........
Not a Jake as I know em. These are very different these ones are far too deap boddied and fins far too small.
Kind of not like a perfect maleri iether. Kind of tank raised written on him.
Kind of hunched without full development.
Sorry that sounds a bit harsh you may love these fish but in all honesty they are not a stellar examples of any Aulonocara.
All the best James
