Hello all,

Wondering it a pair of each would work well in my tank. I've also been contemplating J. Marlieri "Gombe". I hear this strain of Julie grows to around 3 inches. I have a cichlid sand substrate with some lace rock. What do you think?

Pearly occie (Lamprologus meleagris is a pretty old name if I guess right) and J. gombi (personally I think gombi is neither transcriptus nor a marlieri just different from both) have worked together.

What size is your tank?

I mean length.
I have seen em work together in a 36" long.
gombi/gombe are mean and bigger than transcriptus. But pearly occies, stappersii/meleagris are good at holding off Julies.

I have juvi J. Transcriptus and pearly occies, stappersii/meleagris in a 20 long with hopes of getting pairs of each. As 24 said the Shellies tolerate the Julies, and push back if the Julies get out of line. So far so good, but I'll have to thin them out as they decide who's ...doin who. :D
