well the occis re you hoping for a pair?? if you are i would get more then 2 the chance of 2 males is to high

Pulcher/Brichardi need to be in a species only tank, once they breed they will kill everyone else.

I dont have any of them yet except the Julidochromis marlieri.

What are the dimensions of your 30 gallon breeder? Typically J. marlieri give the smaller shelldweller species a pretty hard time.

Oh sorry, Its a regular 30g. (Not sure why I wrote 30 breeder)

36 1/4 x12 5/8 x16 3/4

Would a larger shell dweller be ok?

when setting up my two tier 3ft stand i temporarily had my j.marlieri's in with my multies in a 30 breeder and was too cramped...
theyre currently in a standard 3ft with some black occies and its much better
although IMO i think it would work better with some calvus or comps with a rock pile at each end of the tank...
