Introducing "Butkus"

I have been having fun photographing my calvus fry. There is a little dude that I have named "Butkus" after the meanest linebacker to ever play the game of football ;) Butkus likes guarding a hole in a rock - it's his and he likes to let others know it. This gives me a great photographic ambush spot to capture some major altolamp personality. Here are a few pics of Butkus, I'll post more later. Hope you like...

Great pics and very healthy looking fish! :thumb:

Looks like you could make a lot of people very happy with those. :p
I like your juveniles. Do their colors remain that rich when they mature?
Lots of attitude in that little guy. What lens you using for the closeups?

The fry in my 55 are my first few spawns so I am not sure what they will look like as juvies?

I know what they will look like when the are mature. I'll post a pic of the dad and the mom of most of them.

Mom of most

The dad of all

Yes, I love the attitude. With a tank full of these little dudes, it is hard to focus on just one. He stands out and he is in the same spot.

Lens: Canon EF-S 18-55 with IS
Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T2i (18 mega pixel)
