So I'm building my own internal overflow out of 1/2 ply and coating it in epoxy. I drilled 1/2" holes every 1/2" that are 1 1/2" deep. I'm trying to figure out how big the box needs to be. I found the calculators at ReefCentral and it says that I want 21 linear inches to accomodate 1.5" PVC.
I'm trying to figure out how big the box needs to be. If I make it so there is 21" of 1/2" gaps the thing is HUGE.
I think I might need to consider the water height and how far into the 1 1/2" tooth that sits.
Can anyone comment or have I just confused whomever is reading this?
